The Squad Tours Tamarindo, Costa Rica

The Squad Tours Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Hola, Costa Rica!

We'd been discussing a girls' getaway for months. Aruba? Bermuda? Me-hi-co? The world was our oyster. Ha - let's not kid our pockets. Anywhere reasonably close and preferably with a beach was our oyster. We juggled our options and did some Google Flights window shopping -- mainly concentrating on the Caribbean -- and then our attention shifted to Costa Rica.

Latin America has been near the top of my travel list this year -- whether it was in Central or South didn't matter, I wanted to touch down somewhere below Mexico. Costa Rica seemed like a safe choice. I'd known that it's a popular go-to for tourists, somewhere I could get my Spanglish on, and from what I'd heard, very affordable.

Eat, Pray, Love: The Italian Way

Eat, Pray, Love: The Italian Way

Back in 2011, Kristen convinced me to do a study abroad trip through the University of Maryland to Italy. Of course, I couldn’t turn that down. 4 years later, I decided to enjoy Italy again, but in a different climate. My line-sister Ayana and I traveled to Italy to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s. Here are some tips and suggestions as experienced during my recent 2 week holiday jaunt in Italia!

A guest post by Tamika F.

If you haven’t seen the movie Eat, Pray, Love, I would highly recommend it. Since I loved the movie so much, I made my entire Italy trip and experience into an Eat, Pray, Love journey (well, something like that -- I mostly just did the eat part).

Checking In: The SLS Las Vegas (A Hotel Review)

Checking In: The SLS Las Vegas (A Hotel Review)

By now, I've taken many a flight or road trip to Vegas since first stepping foot in sin city in 2012 during my 21st. Half of a dozen visits later, some planned while others spur of the moment, the magic of the Strip has not been lost on me. Coming from a certified non gambler, the allure for me isn't an affection for casinos, but in never quite knowing what kind of night I'll have or who I will encounter. Yes, "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas," but the memories always make for a great story!

The element of surprise delights me, and knowing that chances of me having a grand time are pretty high, it keeps me excited to come back.

My most recent jaunt to LV was for the highly anticipated Mayweather-Pacquiao fight weekend.

Wine Not? | A Mellow Malibu Winery Outing

Every time I find myself in Malibu, it’s a breath of fresh air. Whether I’m coastside cruising down along the PCH or up driving in and out of the rolling hills, the many scenic perspectives tug at my heartstrings.

Life seems easy in the ‘Bu. I can totally picture myself spending a breezy afternoon catching waves at Surfrider Beach (#surfbort), heading to dinner at Nobu where I might see Drake eating crabs and casually say what’s up, and then I’d retreat to my nice cozy palace…

Island + Party Life: Ibiza Style

Island + Party Life: Ibiza Style

The third and final destination of my seaside city mini tour was Ibiiiiiiiza! (I always say it in my head like that, given the nature of the city.) Ibiza had been on my bucket list for a while, but for some reason, I didn't see it happening until way down the line.  It was a bit surreal to actually be touching down on the little Spanish island of all things hedonistic.

I’m a sucker for island life and I live for checking off cities around the world that I've partied in -- here was the most appropriate place to indulge in both.

We made our way by bus to Giramundo Hostel after arriving to the Ibiza airport and went to go check in at the reception desk. We needed our passports in order to finalize our booking, but mine seemed to have disappeared from my purse. It wasn't in my carry on either. I ravaged through both bags multiple times, but couldn't find it anywhere.

[Cue near heart-attack]
