Lance Gross x Rocky Rug Present: Les Femmes

I don't come out to play with the Hollywood crowd too often, but occasionally when an alluring event of some sort lands specifically in my inbox, I make the effort to schedule it in.

This time, the invite was by way of Royal Waistbeads (my mom's and my jewelry business). I've vended at/helped sponsor a few different Hollywood events via RWBs since my relocation, and with varying levels of success, I've tended to mainly stick with only selling online where we get the most love with the least promotional effort. (Fun fact: Sheree Fletcher, Will Smith's ex wife of Hollywood Exes, once purchased a set from me at the first event I did here. I had to look her up because I’d never watched the show, but she was such a sweetheart!)

However, when we were extended an opportunity to be involved with the Les Femmes show by actor Lance Gross, I figured I'd give it a go. Any of the event’s LA-based sponsors or gift bag contributors were added to the guest list, and our simple contribution of gift certificates was enough to grant access.

PHOTOS | Jhene Aiko & SZA - Enter the Void Tour

This past Sunday night was dedicated to soul sailing...

I got to see two of my favorite artists, Jhene Aiko and SZA, who both released major projects this year ('Souled Out' and 'Z') that I think I will never stop listening to. These ladies' entire libraries stay in rotation. I've been known to express my inner stan justttt a tad over a couple artists who I'm especially drawn to; this time I did it through up-close-and-all-up-in-yo-face photos, and getting my entire life from the moment SZA hit the stage to open for Jhene at Downotwn LA's Club Nokia.

Making ATL Mine | A Friendsgiving to Remember

On Sunday, November 23, I hosted my very first Friendsgiving and I must say that I could not have imagined a more perfect event. Well, let's backtrack a little bit. Some might be wondering, what the heck is Friendsgiving?!

On the Run: Houston

Whenever Beyoncé announces a concert, I always feel like I MUST go... and this past summer was no different. Kristen and I had been to I Am... World Tour (Washington, DC) in 2009, the Mrs. Carter Show (Brooklyn) in 2013, and I was ready to see Bey perform her latest hits off of her self-titled album alongside her hubby, Jay-Z.

(LA)bor Day Weekend | Made in America

Until more recently in my life, I didn’t know much about these enormous music festivals that have began to pop up everywhere in the world, other than casually hearing about Coachella here and there. Even then, I only knew of Coachella as some music event that occurred all the way across the country; but that it was apparently pretty epic. In 2012, Budweiser’s Made in America had kicked off as the East Coast’s largest urban music fest just two hours away from my home city in Philadelphia. I didn’t travel to Philly to go, but that’s when I started getting more clued in to what these multi-day massive concert blowouts were all about.

Last year, I was finally introduced to the in person experience for myself all the way in Barcelona, Spain, when I decided to travel to Europe with a girl I’d never even met in person and attend the Sonar Music Festival with her. (Crazy, right? I’ll be writing about this soon; stick around if you want to read allll about how that turned out.)
