8 Months in Thailand Roundup - KrissKrossing Southeast Asia

I moved to Thailand last August without knowing a soul in Chiang Mai and with only a hint of a plan as to what exactly I'd do for the ~6 months I'd be there. My goal was to learn as much as I could - both technical skills and lifestyle tidbits - about creating an online-centered career, while taking the opportunity to travel around Thailand and Southeast Asia while based there. I wanted to live out my dreams, even if temporarily, of living in a completely different country.

8 months and a 29 hour flight later, I'm back in the US after the whirlwind of a journey hoping I can adequately process all that I've experienced, learn, and seen. What a chapter!

What a Perfect Chiang Mai Day + Some of My CM Favorites

What a Perfect Chiang Mai Day + Some of My CM Favorites

Since I’ve left home to live in Thailand and travel Southeast Asia 7 months ago (woooow time flies), there have been several days I’ve reflected on in appreciation and even a bit of incredulity because they were so incredibly blissful.

If you were to ask me what my perfect day looks like, there’s no way I’d be able to narrow down all the things I dream about making happen into just 24 hours. But when a day spent in the company of genuine people, with beautiful sights, adventures, laughter & meaningful conversation materializes -- I realize the elusive idea of perfection is actually attainable.

Life in Thailand as a Newbie Solo Black Nomad

Yesterday marked 3 months of life on the run. Just in case you're new here -- I'm currently hiding out in Southeast Asia. Shhhhh.

Almost an exact year ago, I dispelled my wishes to the universe, via blog post, that I was going to move abroad in 2015. My exact words:

This year has been a sensational whirlwind. I’m always astonished at how quickly the present moments and months disappear into mere memories. I’ve bounced around from here to there, hopping around from one city to the next, attempting to get my life along the way (resulting in the birth of new goal after new goal), often times moving too fast to even keep up with myself. Hence, why my beloved blog became increasingly vacant of new updates as the year shot by like a speeding bullet.

“I’m all over the place, I can’t sit in one place, I’m not ashamed at all.”

No More Beaches!? - It's All Happening

Moving to Los Angeles was a big deal for me.

It’s the reason I launched the travel blog I always wanted to create, it forced me to become a true go-getter, and it pushed me to explore life outside my comfort zone without having anyone to hold my hand through the process. 23 years spent living in the same county just wasn’t cutting it for me nor pushing me to flourish.
